In 1939 HP was founded in a garage in Palo Alto by two Stanford graduates. At least since 1984 when Hewlett Packard (HP) has launched inkjet printers and laser printers the company from Palo Alto, California plays an important role in the printing sector. One million HP printers are delivered every week and the company invests millions of dollars for the research and developing of better printing technologies. Most of the available devices meet all expectations of private users, small companies and global companies.
In 1984 HP launched its first laser printer, the HP LaserJet. One of the first inkjet printers for end customers was the ThinkJet, brought to market in 1984. In the same year, HP launched the Deskjet 500, which was the first inkjet printer for the mass market. Until today, there is a high demand for HP multifunctional devices, which consist of printers, scanners, copiers and sometimes even fax machines.
Moreover, HP is the inventor of disposable print heads, which are part of the cartridge. Whenever changing cartridges, also the print head is replaced and the printer is "as good as new".
But HP is not only the market leader when it comes to printers and printer accessories, such as HP ink cartridges. HP is the largest technology company in the world: every year, more that 60 million HP computers are delivered and every third delivered server in the world is from HP.
